The Francoli Energia thermo-electric plant produces electrical and thermal energy using pure biomass: renewable, clean, sustainable fuel, with no negative impact on the surrounding area, forestation or the levels of CO2 in the atmosphere.
The power plant began operating in 2013 and has a productive life expectancy of more than 20 years.
Although the electrical energy produced is all sold to the national electricity supplier, the 1000 kW-hours produced by the power plant for more than 300 days of the year is more than sufficient to cover Gruppo Francoli’s entire energy requirement.
The thermal energy produced, equal to approximately 2,000 thermal kW-hours, is not yet being used but there are specific plans to exploit this useful resource.
Gruppo Francoli is self-sufficient in terms of energy, and has no negative impact on the environment or the concentration of CO2 in the Earth’s atmosphere.
