The wine project of the Ghezzi family was launched in the early nineties when they planted the first vineyards of Chardonnay Pinot Noir at Marzaghette di Adro, where the name of the winery comes from. Quadra was conceived in 2003 as a natural evolution of the winery experience. Subsequently, the owners acquired more land, increasing the area of the estate to its current 50 acres of vineyards. Since 2008, the company has been run by Mario Falcetti, agronomist and oenologist, who trained in the Trentino and at Franciacorta.
Their production philosophy, the result of several decades of experience, focuses on the raw ingredients.
In fact, the mainstays of the company are proper care of the vineyard, vendemmie parcellari: harvesting small quantities of grapes at a time, hand selection of the grapes sulle pressature soffici: at the first pressing where only the first part is used to make Franciacorta, the application of the most natural and least invasive vinification techniques and techniques for refining the wine, long periods in contact with the yeast and, lastly, no added liqueur in the final stages. In other words, a process that places the complete raw material at the centre of the Franciacorta di Quadra project.
Starting with the prerequisites mentioned above, Franciacorta di Quadra wines are obtained by blending wines of the same year and ageing them for at least 3 years in the bottle. In fact, the vintage concept applies to the whole corporate range.
