The Cembra mountain winery is the highest in the Trentino (located 700 m above sea-level).
Founded in 1952 by a small group of wine producers, there are now 400 wine-producers devoted to this heroic kind of farming, tending vineyards planted on terraces carved out of the steep slopes of the Cembra Valley.
Cembra is located in Europe’s largest expanse of porphyry, the ‘red gold’ of the valley-dwellers, a type of rock that gives the wines grown here an extraordinary sapidità: flavour. In this unusual landscape, some vineyards “l’habitat di elezione”: thrive and, thanks to the zone-selection project conducted in 1980, convey in their taste all the tradition and strength of the Trentino. A triumph of tastes and aromas which, thanks to modern know-how, reveals the wonders of this hidden world, the Cembra Valley and, along with the these tenacious mountain folk, has succeeded in preserving the best local traditions and values.
